On DVD, The Clone Wars is following the same frustrating release pattern used for many animated series these days, including The Spectacular Spider-Man and Wolverine and the X-Men, where individual DVDs are released first containing only three to four episodes each – with a full Season One set scheduled for later. However, as Season One progressed it proved to be a highly entertaining show, whose strengths outweighed some notable weaknesses. There was a good deal of fan trepidation for The Clone Wars when it launched, particularly after the mostly negative response to the feature film that spurred the series.
